Ohio EPA Division of Surface Water - Draft 2026 Integrated Report Supplemental Comment Period
A supplemental comment period is being held prior to submission of the final report to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for approval. During review of submitted comments, Ohio EPA determined that the complete 303(d) list was not included in the materials made available for public comment. The posted documents contained the high‑priority waters and a summary of changes to medium‑ and low‑priority waters but did not include the full medium‑ and low‑priority listings. To address this, Ohio EPA will only accept comments on the full list of waters and their priority rankings. Comments can be submitted by email to EPATMDL@epa.ohio.gov by 5 p.m. on October 12, 2026.

When designated as a State Scenic River in 2006 the Mohican River was classified as Exceptional Warm Water Habitat based on the Ohio EPA's criteria. A more recent survey and report from 2021 shows a significant decline in water quality.
